You're Invited to ScreencastCamp!
Hi! I'm cross-posting this from Betsy Weber's Visual Lounge TechSmith blog. I'll be at this camp and would love to meet some fellow Jingers!

Come on in! Our doors at TechSmith are open! I'm really excited to invite you to the first ever ScreencastCamp!
So, what is ScreencastCamp? It is a gathering of screencasters and visual communication aficionados who want to network, learn, and collaborate on the art of screencasting.
The event relies on... YOU! All sessions, discussions, and demos are led by attendees sharing their knowledge. The program isn't determined beforehand--it's created the first day by the participants. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. ScreencastCamp follows the BarCamp model-an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is for new screencasters and veterans alike.
TechSmith trainers, developers, video staff and evangelists will be onsite and sharing their knowledge too. You'll have access to TechSmith's studio and sound room. You can even visit the giant spork.
Here are some more details:
- When: Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14
- Where? At TechSmith headquarters, in Okemos, Michigan.
- Cost: Free! All meals and drinks Friday evening through Sunday afternoon are provided by TechSmith.
- How do I sign up to attend: Sign up through the Eventbrite site here. Note: We have a limit of 100 attendees.
I know you're probably thinking, "Do I really have to set up a tent and camp?" No, you don't have to camp. If you don't feel like roughing it, you can camp inside TechSmith or there are a couple hotels within walking distance. I'd encourage you to camp - around the campfire is where great ideas are born, interesting conversations happen, new friends are made and creativity is sparked... and, lets not forget about s'mores (did I mention I make homemade marshmallows?)!
The hashtag we're using for the event is #screencastcamp. You can follow @screencastcamp on Twitter. You can find out more about ScreencastCamp here plus I'll make periodic updates on the Visual Lounge as well.
Will I see you at ScreencastCamp? I'll bring the marshmallows if you bring yourself!
really perfect :)

WOW, nice, nice, nice
thanks
I missed this year's camp. Will you have another next year on the same month?
Roberto, sorry we missed you. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll do it again next year. The team that put that on just had a debrief but no plans as of right now. I expect it will be a while before a decision and/or date is made, but we'll try to get the word out a lot earlier if we do it again.

The slots are already full when I attempted to sign up! I wish there will be a Screencast camp again very soon. And I hope that the schedule will not mix up with our millionaire mind intensive seminar. Keep us updated!
Is this screencasting camp open to all ages of people interested in learning about screencasting? My son wants to go off to summer camp for next year's summer vacation. He has expressed interest in writing and this would be a great experience for him. If he can attend this camp, I'll have to get him a medical travel insurance policy because he always seems to get sick when I send him on a trip. How much does it cost to attend this screen casting camp?
This past summer we had all type of people from different parts of the country, different ages, and different experience levels.
We're wide open!
Our conference was free. Once you got here we took care of all the food too. If you didn't want to stay at the hotel next door we had camping (indoor and outdoor) places available.
We haven't announced any plans, much less dates, for next summer. I would stay tuned to http://visuallounge.techsmith.com. I think that's likely the first place we will post news.

Bringing your own intellectual camp together is really the best kind of networking. Not only are you inviting those outside of your direct competition, you're picking and choosing who should come for the experience. Whenever I see my Dallas injury lawyer I know that he's always doing this kind of thing.
Sweet event ! I really home to find something similar..next year so I can take part.. :D
Awesome. thanks for the invitation!
this is a great way to learn save the earth.
peace, love, and happiness. jah bless.
The spam on this thread is hysterical and frightening. The one about travel insurance for the son who always gets sick is pathetic. But it sure would be fun to go to next year's ScreencastCamp! (No url here-I'm not a spammer).
Ya the site administrator should look at more ways than just using capcha to block spam! Admins take a look at http://www.bybe.net/blog/50-the-most-efficient-way-to-stop-comment-spam.html
Screencast rocks, keep it going.
Great blog post – I found you on Google. I will be sure to recommend this to my co-workers. Keep up the great work! Existenzgründung aus der Arbeitslosigkeit mit Gründungszuschuss und Einstiegsgeld
