Making Videos Downloadable
Hi,
Did you know that you can allow viewers to download your videos?
From inside your library or folder, click on the Edit icon of the media you would like to make available for download.
Make sure the "Hide Download" link is unchecked to enable users to download the video.
Remember that as the owner of the media, you will always see the download media link when you are logged into your account . If you are not logged in, the link is only available if you make it available.
Here is a short video (under 2 minutes) that walks you through the entire process.
Enjoy.

Greg,
When adding embed code to another site you are welcome to use any link to the media you would like. Copy the URL and present it on your site in any method you prefer.
That said, you bring up a point that we've discussed a number of times. "What if the link changes due to a change in our architecture?" It is a concern of ours as we would rather save you the trouble of discovering a broken link and correcting it. As we consider how to improve this we've tossed around several ideas...but we're most concerned with what someone like you would expect from such a feature. Could you perhaps elaborate on what would work best for your situation? What could we give you that would make it easy?

Hi Neal,
Yes. At least in some cases. The content is marked as non-cache-able such that any information a content owner is trying to protect isn't left on the viewer's computer. Some replays will be cached temporarily anyway, but downloads will use additional bandwidth.

Unlike in HTML when adding embed code to your site, using screencast makes it a lot easier to share, control, and display your videos. It is very suitable for companies or trainers that makes instructional videos. Its still like using HTML codes but in a much easier way.

That’s a wonderful tip. I spend a long time searching for it and almost gave up thinking that the videos were not downloadable for my “viewers” due to security concerns, but now they are happily downloading the videos I uploaded, thanks a bunch!

Thank you for this tip! I had no idea that you could allow viewers to download your videos. I will have to look into this when I get home from work tonight, because I was thinking about this the other day. I thought that it would be really cool to be able to allow my viewers to download my videos for view at a later time for reference when they need it rather than having to visit my page to do it. I have currently been making a lot of videos, but am going to need some help soon. Has anyone had experience with Cantaloupe TV? Let me know what tips you guys have to get some help with my videos. Thanks!
I am in the process of writing a childrens book, and am thinking of making a video to share my concept and plot so that I can look for a suitable freelance artist to do the illustrations for my book. This looks like the best place to share it properly.
